If you used uBlock Origin in Chrome, you probably saw a message saying it was turned off because it "is no longer supported". You did nothing wrong: Chrome changed how all extensions work.
Why did Chrome disable uBlock Origin?
Google replaced the Manifest V2 extension platform with Manifest V3. Between 2024 and 2025 Chrome gradually turned off extensions that still used the old version. uBlock Origin relied on a Manifest V2 feature that let it inspect every request a page made in real time, and that feature no longer exists in Chrome.
What is uBlock Origin Lite?
uBlock Origin Lite is the Manifest V3 version from the same developer. Instead of inspecting each request live, it uses rules loaded in advance. It blocks most ads, but it has fewer advanced options than the original and some custom filter lists cannot be used the same way.

Can I turn it back on?
Not reliably. There were temporary workarounds to re-enable it, but Chrome has closed them. Installing modified versions from outside the store is risky: it is a common way to slip malware into a browser.

Can I run uBlock Origin Lite and Qhawa together?
They can coexist, but two blockers at once add little and can break some pages. Using one is recommended.
